The17A2monoclonalantibodyreactswithmouseCD3,atransmembranecell-surfaceproteinthatbelongstotheimmunoglobulinsuperfamily.CD3associateswithTCRα/βorγ/δchainstoformtheTCRcomplex.CD3isexpressedonTlymphocytes,NK-Tcells,andtovaryingdegreesondevelopingthymocytes.CD3playsrolesinTCRsignaling,Tlymphocyteactivation,andantigenrecognition.The145-2C11antibodyhasbeenshowntoblockthebindingofthe17A2antibodysuggeststhatthe17A2antibodyrecognizesanepitopeoftheCD3εchain.Treatmentwiththe17A2antibodyinvivohasbeenreportedtopartiallydepleteTlymphocytesandtemporarilydown-modulateCD3expressiononTcells.
