The30H12monoclonalantibodyreactswithmouseThy1.2alsoknownasCD90.2.Thy1.2isexpressedbythymocytesandmatureTlymphocytesaswellashematopoieticstemcells,neurons,epithelialcells,andfibroblasts.Thy1.2isexpressedonlybycertainmousestrainsincludingC57BL/6,BALB/c,CBA,C3H,C58/,SJL,DBA,andNZB/.Thy1.2isa25-35kDaGPI-anchoredmembraneglycoproteinandamemberoftheimmunoglobulinsuperfamily.ThefunctionofThy1.2hasnotbeenfullyelucidatedbutisthoughttoplayrolesincognition,axongrowth,Tlymphocytefunction,andapoptosis.The30H12monoclonalantibodyhasbeenreportedtoinduceCa2+fluxinthymocytes.ThisantibodyisparticularlyusefulfordepletionofTlymphocytes.
