The6F7monoclonalantibodyreactswithmouseB-andT-lymphocyteattenuator(BTLA)alsoknownasCD272.BTLAisanIgsuperfamilymemberwhichisexpressedonBcells,Tcells,macrophages,dendriticcells,NKcells,andNKTcells.LikePD-1andCTLA-4,BTLAinteractswithaB7homolog,B7-H4. However,unlikePD-1andCTLA-4,BTLAdisplaysTcellinhibitionviainteractionwithtumornecrosisfamilyreceptors,notjusttheB7familyofcellsurfacereceptors.BTLAisaligandforherpesvirusentrymediator(HVEM).BTLA-HVEMcomplexeshavebeenshowntonegativelyregulateTcellimmuneresponses.Thereareconflictingreportsconcerningtheactivityofthe6F7antibody.Insomecases,theantibodyisreportedtodepleteBTLA+BandCD4TcellswhileinotherstheantibodyisreportedashavingagoNISTicactivity.Seethereferencesfordetails.
